News of the month

Exceptionally, the monthly letter will start with a word of our president:

 Dear friends,

Everything practical is easy to write.

But when we want to talk from the heart, the words are lacking and we become clumsy.

At each one of our events, we welcome foreigners, but after two or three days, something magical has  happened, and the strangers have somehow become friends, and when they leave we feel like a bereavement.

On Thursday, the drumbeat had disappeared from the Loue Valley. There was no more dancing.

The skies were crying for our friends who had left, as it was raining in our hearts.

Now it is Saturday, the sun is shining again, and the hope to meet again washes away our sadness.

We are filled with happiness to have recieved you and to have gotten to know you. I especially wish to thank our Native friends for bringing to us a little bit of their culture that we love and admire so much. Many thanks also to all the people who, through their presence, encourage me to pursue the aims of our association.

May we one day all walk and dance with the same step, in the same direction.

 See you hopefully very soon,

Christian Larqué

Within a few days you will find on this site many photos of the powwow, as well as news from the Native American world.

You can already look at the presentation.
